Contouring and reshaping

What is it?

Contouring is a very quick and easy procedure to remove small amounts of tooth enamel to produce a more aesthetically pleasing tooth shape. It can be used on mis-shapen, chipped and slightly overlapping teeth.

What is the procedure?

After X-rays have been used to determine the thickness of the enamel layer, the tooth is literally sanded down using a very fine sanding disc until the desired reduction is made. The tooth is then polished and the procedure is finished.

How long do they last?
